Chartered Building Surveyor, Registered Home Inspector, Accredited Energy Assessor (Domestic and Commercial)

I am an independent Chartered Building Surveyor with more than 30 years' experience. I have recently completed new qualifications, and I am now also a Registered Home Inspector with the ABBE Diploma in Home Inspection, and a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor with the ABBE diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment (Level 3).

I undertake inspections of all residential properties, including those constructed of period timber framing or stone and/or with thatched roofing.

As a Registered Home Inspector I am able to undertake inspections of residential properties in order to provide either an Energy Performance Certificate, or a Home Condition Report which includes the Energy Performance Certificate.

The Energy Performance Certificate is a required element of the new Home Information Pack which each seller of residential property is required to provide. At the present time the Home Condition Report is not a mandatory element of the Home Information Pack, though many sellers of property will find that it is advantageous to have such a report in their Home Information Pack.

As a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor I am able to prepare Energy Performance Certificates for commercial properties. An EPC is required for most commercial premises which are offered for sale or rental.

Since the Autumn of 2005 I have acted as a Technical Assessor and Internal Verifier for candidates undertaking qualification as Home Inspectors through the SAVA Assessment Centre. Additionally, since the Autumn of 2008 I have also acted as a Technical Assessor and Internal Verifier for candidates undertaking qualifications as Non-Domestic Energy Assessors through the same Assessment Centre.

Location

My principal area of operation is within 25 miles of Abingdon, Oxfordshire; serving towns including Newbury, Hungerford and Reading in Berkshire, and Wantage, Abingdon, Wallingford, Woodstock and Witney in Oxfordshire, together with the City of Oxford and surrounding villages.
