Chartered Building Surveyor, Home Inspector, Accredited Energy Assessor (Domestic and Commercial)

I am an independent Chartered Building Surveyor with more than 35 years' experience. I have recently completed new qualifications, and I am now also a Home Inspector with the ABBE Diploma in Home Inspection, and a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor with the ABBE diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment (Level 3).

I undertake inspections of all residential properties, including those constructed of period timber framing or stone and/or with thatched roofing.

As a Home Inspector I am able to undertake inspections of residential properties in order to provide an Energy Performance Certificate.

The Energy Performance Certificate is a document which must be provided by all persons or organisations offering a property for sale or rental.

As a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor I am able to prepare Energy Performance Certificates for commercial properties. An EPC is required for most commercial premises which are offered for sale or rental.

Between the Autumn of 2005 and the summer of 2011 I acted as a Technical Assessor and Internal Verifier for candidates undertaking qualification as Home Inspectors through the SAVA Assessment Centre. Additionally, between the Autumn of 2008 and the summer of 2011 I also acted as a Technical Assessor and Internal Verifier for candidates undertaking qualifications as Non-Domestic Energy Assessors through the same Assessment Centre. 

From time to time I am called upon to carry out site audits of Domestic Energy Assessors on behalf of the NHER Accreditation Scheme.

I offer various building surveying services, with a personal approach, including:-

• Building Survey Reports
• Home Condition Surveys
• Energy Performance Certificates for residential and non-residential properties
• Investigation of, and preparation of reports on, building defects
• Measured surveys of land or buildings
• Schedules of Condition and Schedules of Dilapidations
• Reports for litigation purposes

Location

My principal area of operation is within 25 miles of Abingdon, Oxfordshire; serving towns including Newbury, Hungerford and Reading in Berkshire, and Wantage, Abingdon, Wallingford, Woodstock and Witney in Oxfordshire, together with the City of Oxford and surrounding villages, such as Harwell, Blewbury, Steventon, Drayton, Grove, East Hagbourne, West Hagbourne, East Hendred, West Hendred, East Hanney, West Hanney and Marcham.
